Fight vs breast cancer
In an exclusive article by People, it was reported that the actress had her last breath on Sunday morning, as per a family representative. The family representative told how Preston preferred to battle her cancer confidentially: “Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends.”
Oscar-holder actor Travolta thanked the doctors for providing medical attention to his wife. Continuing on his social media post: “My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side.”
Her last public appearance was two years ago, as recalled by CNN. It was during the red carpet premiere of her husband’s movie “Gotti” in which Travolta and Preston both played the couple John and Victoria Gotti. Preston met her husband on 1988 when she had a screen test with him for a movie.
“She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time,” the family representative shared. Travolta also mentioned on his Instagram that his wife’s “love and life will always be remembered.”
Meanwhile, their daughter, Ella shared her message of love to her deceased mother, writing: “I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful, and loving as you… Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place. You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much, Mama.”
Travolta concluded his tribute post to his wife by saying that he is going to look after their children for the meantime. His message reads: “I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal.”
