Thank you so much for doing this with us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Mriganka Biswas: So let me tell you what I was doing earlier, I was perusing CA and I was totally focused on it but there was something missing. While pursuing my career in CA, I started doing multi-level marketing with the company “Amway” and their educational partner BWW (Britt World Wide). I started learning the reality of life and that’s when I started my journey, to try and help others succeed. Never before had I heard that if we support each other, everyone could grow rich. I learned the power of networking, human behavior, and most importantly I started learning from my failures. So while staying in that industry, I had to sell products, so I used to pitch people not the features, but the benefits. That tactic gave me a boost in sales in one of my disinfectant products. So I started loving it and then slowly I came to understand customer behavior – that they value benefits. Then I started selling more products.
One fine evening I was scrolling through Facebook and I saw an ad for an educational company named “Career Ninja” which was helping students learn digital marketing. So I talked to the owner and he made me realize that we don’t need a degree to prove ourselves, we need a good skill set to grow ourselves. So then I thought “Let’s Do It” and I learned one thing in my life: there is no decision which is right, you have to make your decision right.
Can you tell us a story about the hard times that you faced when you first started your journey? Did you ever consider giving up?
Mriganka Biswas: Absolutely, there is nothing in the world you can have on a platter. I believe everyone must have a “roller coaster” journey so that your story will not be a boring one. Starting my journey from “Amway”, I faced many hurdles, I had learned what failures are. You really want to help people and grow but no one is giving their hand to support you and that was the time that broke me completely. That’s when I realized the truth of life, but, as I said, BWW is such an educational system that helped me fight, and when I started my startup company “Publicity Wizards” at the beginning there was a good flow of clients but suddenly there was stagnation in growth and due to second wave of the pandemic it hit us very badly and there were clients who were canceling the service and that point of time I was blacked out on what to do, but then slowly we started pushing ourselves and then again we were back on track. So there will be a good time and there will be a hard time, and running away from your hard time will not make you succeed.
Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lessons you learned from that?
Mriganka Biswas: So while starting my journey, I made a very funny mistake. I misspelled the client’s name while sending an e-mail. So the lesson I learned is don’t be in a hurry, check before sending anything to anyone, and when you make a mistake accept the mistake and make sure you never repeat the same one. You make sure you make thousands of mistakes but never the same mistake.
Is there a particular podcast you listened to, or business thought leader that you find helpful while maneuvering this pandemic?
Mriganka Biswas: I listen to E-commerce Influence.
What Makes a Good Team Leader? A Guide to Effective Team Leadership
What is most important to your organization—mission, vision, or values?
Mriganka Biswas: The most important for our organization is to provide “values” to our clients. The reason is pretty simple, our company will grow when we start providing values to our clients and that results in our revenue generation. If we don’t provide value to our clients then our company is failing. Prioritizing providing value helps our clients grow. “If they win, we win”.
You are a successful business leader. Which three character traits do you think were most instrumental to your success?
Mriganka Biswas: The three common traits that are most instrumental are:
- “Adaption to change” = as I firmly believe you need to adapt with the technology, with the changes, to make you and your clients grow. If you fail to adapt to changes then you will be falling back.
- “Willingness to learn” = is another thing that I built for myself and that helped me because I came to understand that learning is the best weapon you can have. Learning can come from anywhere – your surroundings, workplace, friends, family, etc.
- “Accepting Failure”. You need to accept your failures and move on with the lesson you have gotten from that failure. When we learn to ride a bicycle we fall several times at first, but then we learn how to ride. You will be a winner when you fail, and you learn from that failure.

What have you learned about personal branding that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
Mriganka Biswas: Personal Branding taught me to be more self-confident, which I was never during my school days. In school, they never teach this kind of stuff and I learned that you need to provide value to your audience to make a name for yourself in front of the world. Audiences engage with what value you are providing and how they are getting benefited from you.
Personal branding helped me to deal with my weakness which I turned into my strength. Also, personal branding helped to do this interview.
How would you define “leadership”?
Mriganka Biswas: I believe a good leader is the person who not only thinks for the business, but also for his/her employees. In a working culture, the environment must be positive, healthy, and helpful. This will impact in creating a positive work environment, motivating the employees, and decreasing the employee turnover rate. You get the best out of the best from them. Leadership is becoming an example and enabling other fellow mates to grow more confidently.
What advice would you give to our younger readers that want to become entrepreneurs?
Mriganka Biswas: The best advice I would like to give is to stop thinking about what will be the end result before starting something. Stop thinking and start taking action. You will definitely fail at some point in your career but let me tell you. That will be your life’s best lesson that you learn. Don’t follow the money, follow the process. Money will automatically follow. Don’t give excuses, start accepting the mistakes. The more mistakes, the more you will learn. Make a million mistakes but don’t make the same mistake. Invest in yourself, create the most valuable assets. Invest yourself like a stock that will have a long-term return. Work on yourself, shape yourself. Work on your weakness.
What’s your favorite “life lesson” quote and how has it affected your life?
Mriganka Biswas: Failure inspires winners. It’s the biggest secret of winners. It’s the secret that losers do not know.
